John Oliver joined Seth Meyers in enthusing about the spectacle of the Super Bowl, with entertainment by Beyonce and Bruno Mars, but if John’s remarks are any indication Chris Martin of Coldplay walks away with the Most Unfunky Player award this year.
The world-class entertainment we’ve come to expect makes America’s games different from sporting events in other parts of the world, but Oliver says that’s a very good thing, because if it’s a bad game, you still remember the entertainment. John Oliver will remember the show this year, but he’d clearly love to forget,Coldplay, saying it was “slightly excruciating” to see them come onto the field.
Oliver and Meyers went on to compare notes on the Coldplay performance, saying at one point it was “very much sex with the lights on.” John’s comic description of Chris Martin’s ‘funky’ attempts to join in with Beyonce and Bruno at the finish must be heard for yourself.
