Conservative Republican Dr Ben Carson joins Clarence Thomas and Herman Cain to round out the Three Stooges of African American politics. Ward Connerly plays Shemp as a part time stooge. Ben Carson made a name for himself with Fox News and Talk Radio when, at the Washington Prayer Breakfast, he tore in to President Obama who was sitting next to him at the table.
One must keep in mind that 95% of African Americans vote Democratic. So these conservative black stars represent only a tiny portion of African Americans. All four of these specific men are also millionaires many times over. The Koch Brothers alone send Supreme Court justice half a million a year. Which would be grounds for impeachment for a white guy. Which is why he gets to give the rest of us the finger whenever this comes up.
The reality here is that of the civilized world, the United States is number one in child poverty and hungry kids. Republicans constantly complain about the cost of SNAP – the new acronym for Food Stamps. Half of that food goes to children which they want to cut and some Republicans want to eliminate. Most of the other half goes to seniors. And what’s left mostly goes to single mothers of the children. Like anything there is a small percentage of fraud which the GOP dwells upon. Though that pales to the fraud inherent in religious organizations.
SNAP cost us about $30 billion a year in 2007. But rose with the Republican Recession to $80 billion a year by 2010 and is now going down in direct proportion to the recession going down.
But good to see Dr Carson follow the lead of Connerly, Cain and Thomas with that Republican cry of I GOT MINE AND FCK YOU.
