Mitt Romney came in second to everyone in 2008. This year he has come in second to Bachmann, Trump, Perry and Cain. Next year he will come in second to President Obama. The GOP is between a rock and a hard place. They go with the Dole, McCain, Romney losers, or the Barry Goldwater profound losers. I am beginning to think that the Obama campaign, the GOP and the Media are all playing this election as CLOSE for their own selfish reasons when in fact, it will be close to a 10 point win for the incumbent.
It all really comes down to this.
Will you vote for someone who is having trouble getting us out of the economic mess we are in, or vote for those who got us into the economic mess we are in.
Just imagine the success this country would enjoy if the GOP had not so successfully played to the ignorance and intolerance which locked in the "Faith Based" vote? Which is about 30% of the national vote and over 50% of the Southern vote.
Not so long ago, before Jerry Falwell sucking up to Ronald Reagan, both those votes were split fairly evenly. Today that would give the Democrats not only about a 10 point advantage in presidential elections, it would also mean the GOP would no longer have that lock on the old Confederate States – and Oklahoma and Kansas. Imagine Mississippi being in play! Wow…
And again and again and again… What did Jesus say about abortion and homosexuality – which are what drives the "Faith Based" bigotry and intolerance.
Faith Based – The religious term used to define those who without a thought will deny facts, science, logic, reason and the truth for their own personal ends. Or I suppose, nonends.
