Jon Stewart, the New York blizzard apocalypse

East Coast Blizzard Apocalypse Well this one finally did it for me, I am suing cable news for divorce. I had a death defying cold yesterday and was shut in all day and night with cable news. I switched between the three networks to find that the world had stopped, literally.

It was GOING to snow in New York. Not even a beheading, a terrorist act or a big round ass of some celebrity snuck in between the snow story. The heroic hosts, mostly stationed and living in NYC, got in cabs and cars and boots to brave the snow that was sure to come sometime later. Weather reports from the regions were non stop with lots of salt and plows and blinking lights and shots of where it will snow.

Warnings of death and destruction. DON’T SHOVEL SNOW IT WILL GIVE YOU A HEART ATTACK. DON’T GO OUTSIDE OR YOUR EARS AND FINGERS WILL FALL OFF! Everything is closed, go home, don’t even stick your nose out the window for it too will turn black and fall off.

Non stop all day all night, there were no murders and not one Republican saying something stupid. I felt sorry for the poor MSNBC hosts who had a truckload of video clips ready with all the dumbass things Sarah Palin and company belched out over the weekend up in Iowa, but couldn’t go with it not for the snow, but the possible snow.

The storm ended up passing by New York, Philly and Jersey and ended Northeast of there where they go through these things every week or so.

So what is with that? Do WE around the nation and the world want to see and hear nothing but a snow storm that may or may not come? Every single minute of it other than drug and high end cars ads for old people? They must know that they are doing though. Or I assume the do. But I’m done with having it on in the background during the day. Back to Sprout…
