I suppose I have to give Cindy Frich credit for being a good sport.
The “republican” shows through so well in this piece. The example of the intellectual capacity of both Republicans and West Virginians is well stated in Cindy Frich drinking the same awful water from not only the same faucet three times, but from the same glass of water twice.
But the overall issue is pretty much the basis of Republican ideology, unless something affects them immediately and personally, nothing needs to be done. After all, doing things is what causes all our problems.
Republicans have no care for dirty water, dirty air, or for the health of the Earth itself. The EPA are fascists, environmentalists are Nazis, scientists are morons and if we want to deal with Climate Change follow the advice of Fox News Brian Kilmeade and invest in a sweater you can put on when it’s too cold or take off when it’s too hot.
But we have to remember this is a democracy and if the people of West Virginia want to chop the tops off their mountains, breath coal dust for a living and drink cancer laden water more power to them. If I am not mistaken West Virginia is also the leader in per capita consumption of moonshine.
