Jordan Klepper, Money in British Elections

jordan klepper money in british electionsTo understand how conservatives won the recent election in Britain, think of the Scottish SNP Party as Ross Perot in 1992 taking 19% of the vote allowing Bill Clinton to beat incumbent George H Bush by 5%. The high unexpected high turnout of the SNP – looking to split from both Britain and the EU – caused Labor to lose over 50 seats foiling the English pollsters.

We learn from Jordan Klepper that the election season in Britain is what they consider too long at six weeks. a $50 million dollar limit among all candidates and parties, and no advertising on television. It’s that last one that is the kicker, where this cycle most of the expected $2 billion will be spent here in the US. Most of that $2 billion coming from wealthy individuals and corporations.

Also keep in mind that the Conservative Party in Britain is for a fully owned government run healthcare system for everyone supported by paycheck deduction. Also conservatives support the harshest gun control laws in Europe, and Jesus is left out of both politics and lawmaking.

But… The Republican Party here is basking in the win over there believing the same will soon happen here with the election of President Cruz.
