House of Cards star Kevin Spacey talks about his new job as head of a Hollywood studio; but CNBC Europe hosts can’t resist asking Spacey what he thinks of the US presidential race, and whether he thinks Frank Underwood would debate Donald Trump.
Spacey whose character Frank Underwood, is beloved despite the fact that he epitomizes the worst in cruelty, selfishness and corruption in American politics, says the presidential race is a “laugh a minute, an extremely entertaining program, I look forward to it almost every single night.” More seriously, Stacy adds, “what I love about my country, is that we know how to have a good time – and we’re very entertaining. And it might take us a while, but we generally get it right…And I suspect we’ll get it right.”
Asked whether President Underwood would debate with Donald Trump, Spacey says; “He wouldn’t.” “There would be a terrible accident on the way to the debate, it would be terrible… and very sad.”
