On Late Night with Seth Meyers – Marco Rubio proves to be as slippery as an oiled eel – in a recent interview with Chris Wallace who tried in vain to get Rubio to give an opinion about the Iraq war. If – as Paul Simon claimed, ‘There are fifty ways to leave your lover’ then Marco Rubio has sixty ways to avoid saying the wrong thing (or the right thing) regarding the Iraq War.
Rubio used his most evasive linguistics, to the frustration of Fox ‘friendly’ Chris Wallace, who asked Rubio ‘the’ inevitable question for presidential candidates. Actually, Wallace may have believed he was giving Rubio a golden opportunity to rise above Bush’s week of Iraq blunders, by framing the question simply and handing to Rubio, then sitting back and waiting for him to shine!
Chris Wallace is nothing if not persistent. “Based on what we know now, was it a mistake to go to war with Iraq?” If the question sounds simple to you- it didn’t to Rubio – who forced Wallace to repeat those familiar words several more times in response to Rubio’s evasive tactics. When all else failed, Rubio claimed he didn’t understand the question. The question: “Was it a mistake?” is deceptively complex – apparently.
If Jeb Bush was afraid to criticize his brother George; who is Marco Rubio afraid of? Seth Meyers believes he knows the answer. Seth has worked out a way for Marco Rubio to secretly communicate in a way that the person he fears won’t notice. I now feel a bit badly for making fun of Rubio for his famous water-drinking trick. If Seth is right, it was much more than thirst prompting his actions…It was a cry for help!
If Seth is correct, It’s time to put Mark Rubio into the witness protection program, because there is a very dangerous war criminal who is after him. If Rubio doesn’t qualify for witness protection, we could drop him into the Montana wilderness for his own safety, if indeed he is afraid of angering…Deadeye Dick Cheney! I think you see his conundrum.
