Dr. Kevorkian, the spark plug of the ‘Right to Die’ movement has checked out unassisted at age 83, eleven years after his release from prison. This country was divided on the topic then, I wonder what he thought of the larger split that exists now.
Those who complain that "big government" is too intrusive, are those who want to control our right to make decisions about our bodies. Not only do they wish to halt abortions, but to banish birth control for adults as well!
The do-gooders have spread such paranoia about the ‘War on Drugs’ that many dying patients wish for a way out – but only because they are under medicated. If many suffer needlessly, what hope is there for those who cannot be helped? We are all at the mercy of lawmakers whose ‘stated’ beliefs are contrary to the easing of pain and suffering.
Martyrs may be admired by their followers, but they do not often have influence equal to their sacrifice. Whether Kevorkian was a martyr or a murderer is a matter of personal belief and experience.
