I include this video because it hit home. Our dog would do the same thing. We have a big Golden Retriever who has lived up to his name, Easy. Same thing. Put his food down and he won’t eat unless you give him the okay. In fact you can put a raw steak on the floor and he will sit and stare at you until you say its okay. He yawns rather than barks to go out ( he doesn’t want to create any ruckus.) Open the door and he stares at you until you give him the okay. Coming in? He barks once. If no result he lays down and naps. He sleeps through the doorbell. He lets the cat beat him up. And he has yet to growl at any living thing. Though he does chase SQUIRRELS.
