“Because I’d like to kill him again.” Lynne Russell’s reply to Fox News Megyn Kelly who asked her why she said she was sorry the robber is dead.
Boy oh boy, this story is THE example of why we live in the craziest violent gun culture in the world with no hope of ever crawling out of.
First thing I noticed was down playing the Motel 6 late at night aspect of this. What motel chain do you think has the most rooms filled with indigent welfare recipients and their drug dealers? I spent 20 years on the road, I know the answer.
An armed robber busts into a Motel 6 room late at night to rob a couple. Both have concealed carry and have their guns spread around the room. So instead of handing over whatever typical Motel 6 guests have in their pockets and being done with it, the couple tries moving their guns around, the robber takes notice and a shootout ensues in the room with dozens of bullets flying every which way. Three of which hit Lynne Russell’s husband Chuck de Caro [two in the stomach and one in the leg] and enough bullets go into the robber to kill him as he staggers out the door and dies.
Had this fine couple had no guns, they would not have three bullets in them – just a matter of luck for them the bullets that did hit them between their eyes. Here I would usually comment on the turmoil of taking a human life, but as we can see from the quote leading into this, this couple has no remorse in killing someone, at all, none, which is a characteristic of gun enthusiasts thoughout America. They are looking for an opportunity like this..
I could mention that 35 Americans were killed by bullets that same day [not counting suicides], 3 or 4 of which were children under 10. But you see, none of that matters. 22 kindergarden kids were torn apart by 40 round clips from an assault rifle and we did NOTHING AT ALL to curtail our violent gun culture. NOTHING AT ALL. Gives pause on what it will take to do anything at all.
So without hope why do I keep pounding my head against the wall on this issue? Good question!
I guess it’s the same reason [other than race] why so many hate President Obama so very much for saying so often.
It’s, the right thing, to do.
