I was torn over this issue for the same reasons Mr Moore expresses. That these CEOs [and management] of the Big Three deserve nothing but a swift kick out the door. But vengeance at the expense of as many as 3 million workers losing their jobs down the line?
I tuned in Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity today and listened as long as I could before I got sick to my stomach. You know, if Limbaugh and Hannity are so dead set against bailing the Auto Industry out, and with their visceral hatred of the workers who are in a union, bailing them out must be the right thing to do. After all, neither of those clowns has ever been right about anything.
Imagine 3 million pink slips in a matter of a couple months. What that will do to the Dow Jones? Perhaps get it down to a three digit high? It boggles the mind. To create that much havoc and pain for so many just for the Right to get revenge on a the Unions and by the Left on a few CEOs is like taking the nation on a jihad for a white whale. At the very least give them enough money to survive beyond January 20th so we can let some smart people figure this out rather than our present administration of Right-wing boobs or the slippery sloop slogans and populism running amuck in Congress these days.
This just in: Congress has deferred voting on this for a while…
One other point that comes to mind in this, one of this nations greatest problems. I was taken aback about how much Limbaugh and Hannity despise Unions and Union workers. The visceral angst is off the charts. While most of those Union workers (the white ones anyway) listen to Limbaugh and Hannity and vote how they tell them to vote.
That is what is so… how does one say… fked up about this country!
