Samantha Bee points out the importance of voting in state midterms, saying -“Democrats are hung up on appointing a new Supreme Court justice, to strike down the poopty laws that might not have passed if they’d bothered to vote in 2010.”
If more illustration is needed to prove the importance of state midterms, Sam points to the 2010 election in North Carolina, which she vows used to be the ‘non-crazy Carolina.’The election saw the first Republican legislature since 1870, and they didn’t sit on their laurels, they set about making theirs one of the most boycotted states in the Union.
Other states are suffering a similar fate, but for now North Carolina’s boycotts are drawing attention to the kind of thing that happens when most of us decide to sit this one out and don’t vote.
I agree with Sam that an ounce of prevention is much less painful than a pound of cure; but when she claims voting in midterms is less bother than a mammogram, I vote by paper ballot, and come down on the side of voting every time!
