Neal Brennan makes four points in the abject over the top hypocrisy of the Republican Party since The Donald won the election. Which of course has no impact whatsoever on those who vote for Republicans or for Trump. Acceptance of hypocrisy, as it is with their lies, are what keeps the GOP a viable political party. The wealthy cannot hold power by buying politicians, gerrymandering and suppressing the vote alone.
The four hypocritical turnarounds the GOP now accept because party winning is more important than America winning:
1) As with Reagan [tripled the debt] and W Bush [doubled the debt and destroyed the economy] Republicans are totally against deficit spending until they got hold of the checkbook.
2) For eight years Republican have been screeching about President Obama costly vacations and golfing while now in six weeks Trump has taken four expensive golfing vacations.3) For two years Republicans screamed about Hillary Clinton being responsible for BENGHAZI while now Trump who is actually responsible for Yemen gets a free ride. Who then uses a widow to not only get his revenge on Ryan Owen’s father, but to blow his own horn on applause numbers.4) America exceptionalism is not about God Blessing us as superior any more, but that we we are a nation of crime and carnage and our leaders are killers.
Lies and hypocrisy aside, in the long run what is worse for America, Trump or Republicans?
Some say the world will end in Trump,
Some say from Republicans.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor Trump.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction Republicans
Are also great
And would suffice.
