Clay Aiken is not losing because of President Obama, he is losing because he is gay and running for congress in North Carolina
Long dead is that old James Carvile election homely that it’s THE ECONOMY STUPID. Everything is better, every single thing. It’s even better than the year before the George Bush Recession.
But we have Muslim ISIS, African Ebola, Hispanic anchor babies flowing across the border with an uppity Negro giving health care to non uppity Negroes. What do you think they call Obamacare down here in Dumbutt in private?
I had to laugh like Hell watching this brouhaha about Senator Mary Landrieu in trouble for saying
“I’ll be very, very honest with you. The South has not always been the friendliest place for African Americans.”
Being very, very honest is not good politics. I mean come on, who doesn’t know that? It is the major political dynamic not only in the South but everywhere. “I don’t want my hard earned tax money going to those lazy… (fill in the blank by either region or by knowing no one can hear you).
But holy hockerlockers, Senator Landrieu after all the Republican screaming and yelling about this refused to walk it back and doubled on down. Here. Hear! And probably lost 5 points.
The main reason the president has struggled here is because his energy policies are not in line with the people of Louisiana. We are a pro-drilling, pro-oil, gas state. The offshore moratorium was extremely unpopular and, in my opinion, wholly unwarranted. It made a lot of people angry and put many businesses at risk. In addition, the South has not always been the friendliest or easiest place for African Americans to advance, and it’s been a difficult place for women to be recognized as the leaders we are. Everyone knows this is the truth, and I will continue to speak the truth even as some would twist my words seeking political advantage.
BTW, if you get in an argument about Republicans suppressing the black vote and they deny it with their spurious argument that they just want to stop voter fraud, ask them why they have rolled back early voting, especially on the Sunday before elections when so many Black churches get out the vote? And then give them a finger under thumb snap in the nose and move on. Always move on, don’t argue with idiots.
