This is the central problem with our ever increasing political divide. It’s not just clowns like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz or Louie Gohmert, it’s Fox News, the NRA, worldnetdaily.com, Rush Limbaugh and thousands of local and syndicated Right-wing talk radio shows constantly feeding the angry and ignorant what they most want to hear. And if they want to hear it they will believe it.
I am not quite sure why they listen and believe. But it is one of two things. Either they want to hear from a wholes that they are not a wholes, or, they know damn well what a wholes they are but tune in to anyone who makes them feel good about being a wholes.
