Health Care 2009, A Trojan Horse bringing in the very worst in socialized medicine, or that’s what the GOP and a large percentage of the AMA to whom Obama spoke today would have you believe. Personally, I have heard the rhetoric.
Republicans cast dire predictions of long lines, long waits for care, control of your choice of physicians, though Obama’s proposed system allows you to keep your own doctor, and your own insurance if you’re fortunate enough to have it and
choose to. There is no reason to believe it is modeled after the very worst in public health care. Obviously the fat cats discussing this have never been in a
particularly repressive H.M.O. and we know they’ve never been completely without health care at all, but rather care of the very finest caliber!
Bill joins Keith in a frank discussion of the obstacles to health reform, not the least of which being the Republican party and the AMA. See why Bill Maher says surprisingly that President Obama needs to adopt some of George Bush’s hard line
tactics on this issue. As John Dean points out, this is the same party which voted against Medicare! It might be well worth taking anything they say about long lines and shoddy care with a huge grain of salt.
