Golden Teabag Award To : Republican Governors Rick Perry of Texas, and Mark Sanford of South Carolina, party planners of Tea Party 2.0.
The Governors prove what we never believed for a moment, that the first Tea Party, billed as a spontaneous grass-roots movement – wasn’t.
Rather than the gatherings of regular grass-roots folks, with stunningly poor turn-out, ridiculous hats, and no cohesive message, the next tea party will be run by those who thought of the the idea in the first place. Throw out the grass roots, bring in some big names, and ditch the ridiculous hats. I’m just as anxious to see what chapeaus the governors select, as what their message will be, assuming they agree upon one this time. Glimmers of the silver screen:
What are you rebelling against…what have you got?
Silver Snake in the Grass Award: Well deserved, it goes to Fox all-around goofball and liar Griff Jenkins. In typical Fox style, after staking her out, he slithered up to Ms Garofalo, when asked who he was, lied “I’m a blogger who reads blogs.” A half truth is a lie Griffie. Let’s hope one of his undiscovered
gifts is that of prophecy.
Bronze: Gary Bauer Christian right hanger-on, and presidential wanna-be. Keith Olbermann ponders Bauer’s comments regarding torture and his enthusiasm for it, when compared with the universal symbol of Christianity.
