John McCain campaign advisors John Weaver and Steve Smith have been questioned recently about the possibility of Sarah Palin running for president in the next election.
According to John Weaver, Palin would never win and that if she ran it would be “A political apocalypse.” Former campaign manager for John McCain Steve Schmidt,
said that he had been closer to her than anyone during the election, but were she the nominee, it would be “a catastrophic election.” Schmidt, in Vanity Fair said she was a ‘Mental Case’ and said that trying to get her ready for a debate was a nightmare. With all of the experts at her disposal, she wouldn’t take advice from anyone other than her family! Pity she took fashion advice and cash elsewhere.
Perhaps the most profound comment came from Margaret Carlson, discussing the movement toward anti-intellectualism which she feels is a bit put on by bright people at times. In Palin’s case, “She’s genuinely committed to knowing as little as possible.”
