News of Paul Krugman’s bankruptcy and financial decline through exorbitant spending have been greatly exaggerated; both Breitbart.com and the Boston Globe fell for an absurd spoof in the Daily Currant…Without checking their sources, I might add – something which never happens here. Thus fooled, they passed the story onto readers as fact. The Daily Currant outlined Krugman’s alleged impulse driven shopping splurges: blowing money on Portuguese wines and British dresses from the Victorian period, and claiming that the leading economist flattened his Black Amex card by $84,000 in one month.
It’s not the first such incident and won’t be the last. In February, The Washington Post also failed to check their sources, and claimed that Sarah Palin, fresh from parting with Fox News, had lucked into an unlikely spot at Al Jazeera!
In other news: It’s difficult to find anyone who opposed The Violence Against Women Act. Those who voted against it, now want to be seen as advocates. If voters don’t check their voting records, they may just carry the charade off.
