The facts of this story can be found over here at England’s The Guardian which much like the media in American misses the point, that a $7 million scam or not, the results would have been the same, in England as well as American disparaging religion will not be tolerated by the mainstream media or any politician looking for a vote, that is what tiny little websites are for.
Washington State Attorney General had declared the Christian Prayer Center to be a scam and ordered owner Benjamin Rogovy to pay up $7 million to be divvied up to the 125,000 idiots whose prayers went unanswered – which would have answered otherwise. For who is to say a large group of people praying in a room in Seattle hav. in a class action suit wanting their $7 million dollars back.
The problem with religion is twofold, with the advent of the internet it is just too easy to research the issue and come to reasonable conclusions. And secondly if one actually takes the time to sit down and think it out there is no trail of facts, reason, logic or even common sense to follow. And when one comes across someone who will argue the point, God’s eggbeater to the brain moves to frappe.
A couple thing about praying. First the dishonesty that it is a proven fact that praying works. The science is that like various forms of meditation praying can work, ommmm, as a self healing process, much like petting a dog [time much better spent]. Also a group praying for someone in their presence can also sometimes help an individual along, that too much like a litter of puppies crawling all over you liking your face. But praying for someone who does not know they are being prayed for at is crap. So when are we going to hear the media or politicians tell the truth? Who will say DON’T PRAY FOR JESSICA IN THE WELL?
The good part about prayer is that when praying these people are not causing me any trouble.
A funny statistic came out just yesterday.Though the rejection of “religion” has more than quadrupled in the last 10 years with “belief and God” going the same direction, belief in an afterlife has stayed the same. Which is what religion is all about. A conundrum of the highest order.
