Front runners Rudi Guilani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and John McCain refused to attend. With a predominately Black audience and a sprinkling of White faces – most all Holy Conservative or Nutcase Libertarian – the applause often seemed out of place in such a setting. The most applause was for Ron Paul decrying the War and Alan Keyes for his over the top religious sermons.
Capital Punishment – Ron Paul against the rest for. Duncan Hunter, Tom Trancedo and Alan Keyes especially thristy for it with Tom Trancedo wanting to expand it to non capital offenses. Mike Huckabee, though for it, gave a moving speech to the pain of it.
Integration and affirmative action – All against any government intervention with Tom Trancedo especially hardcore against it.
Rounding up 12 million Hispanics and deporting them – All of them. [This is going to be the GOP replacement issue for Gay Marriage which won them the last Presidential election]
Cause of Black Unemployment – All agreed racism was a factor except Ron Paul and Tom Trancedo who adamantly refused to admit racism has anything to do with it.
Equal Justice, Jena Six related – Nothing to say and nothing to fix. Except Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee who said the War on Drugs should be moved from criminality to medical rehabilitation. Duncan Hunter took the opportunity to wail on violent criminal Mychal Bell of the Jena Six.
Iraq War – Nothing other than Ron Paul saying get out.
DC representation and voting registration ID – All for picture IDs. Trancedo HOT about NO representation for DC period! Sam Brownback only if they can have guns (believe it or not). Alan Keyes said if they don’t like it in DC they can move the hell out. Mike Huckabee YES on DC and had the balls to address the real issue in this, the GOP is against it because DC is Black and votes Democratic.
Health care – All with a little tweaking of what we have now and getting the evil government out of the way. Trancedo saying falling ill is your own damn fault so you should pay your own damn bills.
All in all what one walked away with after the 90 minutes was that Tom Trancedo blames all problems on either welfare or Mexicans and is an intolerant bigoted racist pig of a man. That Alan Keys with every answer full of family values, morals, God and forcing Jesus Christ into every thing imaginable is a theocratic fascist. And Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are likable people who like the rest of the crowd, haven’t a chance in Hell of winning the nomination, which of course differentiates them from the front runner no-shows who havent’t a chance in Hell of winning the general election.
