First off, Jillette is on the show plugging his book NO GOD, which is a scathing attack on the lack of logic and reason inherent in religious belief. Other than Ron Paul, he is also the most well known Libertarian in America. Also remember that the Libertarian magazine is called REASON.
So there you have it, he makes no bones about it, taxation is gun violence. He says it clearly and plainly. Then relates it to building a library. Though "public schools" could as easily be used. Or Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, stop signs and on and on.
This INSANE CRAP – that government must be run on voluntary donations – is not only more UNREASONABLE and ILLOGICAL than anything religion has ever come up with, it is also more dangerous. Libraries are going under technological change, that is not the issue here. It is that if people are not wealthy enough to send their children to private schools for 12 years, or go to the doctor, or have a life after retirement then TOO FRIGGIN BAD FOR THEM. It’s beyond disgusting.
