Republican coal magnate Robert E. Murray prays miners out of their jobs

robert e murray

You will remember Robert E. Murray from just a few weeks ago when he forced some of his miners to stand behind Mitt Romney on a campaign stop. He took them off of their jobs and refused to pay them for the day. He also wrote job threatening letters to his 3000 employees to vote and donate money to the Romney Campaign or possible lose their jobs. The employees donated $1.4 million to Romeny. Murray has donated $1.7 million to Romney in August, which was more than enough to keep the 154 miners he fired this week on the job. Murray has also been in the news for his staunch opposition to mine safety, and FALSELY blaming an infamous mine collapse in 2007 on an earthquake. The coal business is not in trouble because of President Obama, it is in trouble because of cheap natural gas due mostly to fracking and power companies shifts to money saving natural gas. Coal is also the number one energy source not only in the world but in the United States. It also add more environmental degredation to the environment than any other fossil fuel.

So this Republican Lord of Murray Energy is using God and Scripture to fire his employees because of his unbridled hatred of Barack Obama, his denail of climate change and his opposition to mine safety. Other than Ted Nugent I am hard pressed to come up with any American more disgusting than Robert E. Murray. Oh he is also suing the media for telling the truth about him.

Dear Lord:

The American people have made their choice. They have decided that America must change its course, away from the principals of our Founders. And, away from the idea of individual freedom and individual responsibility. Away from capitalism, economic responsibility, and personal acceptance.

We are a Country in favor of redistribution, national weakness and reduced standard of living and lower and lower levels of personal freedom.

My regret, Lord, is that our young people, including those in my own family, never will know what America was like or might have been. They will pay the price in their reduced standard of living and, most especially, reduced freedom.

The takers outvoted the producers. In response to this, I have turned to my Bible and in II Peter, Chapter 1, verses 4-9 it says, ‘To faith we are to add goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self control; to self control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, kindness; to brotherly kindness, love.’

Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corp. for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.

Amen.
