On the first day of the new Republican Congress we saw only 25 stupid and scary House members standing up to vote against Speaker John Boehner. The scary ones in the Senate, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Joni Ernst, Mike Lee and the dumbest Senator in American history, Danny Inhofe have not yet made a play.
From what I gather from reading a bit from the RNC is that Republicans who have 31 state governors and have total control of 25 states will be doing most of their scariest stupid stuff at the state level. The various forms of religious intolerance, bigotry, nativism and racism. Leaving the compassionate work of reducing taxes on the wealthy and benefits to the poor at a high decibel national level. Along with the smart calls to foul the sea, air and ground water, warm it all up and quit talking and to more ass kicking abroad.
The best bell weather as to how well the Republicans will be able to hold back the stupid and scary will come soon as we see if they can put on a lid on Ted Cruz, Danny Inhofe, Steve King, Louie Gohmer and YoYo YoYo. The mystery card this session is going to be stupid and scary Senator Joni Ernst. Will she be respectfully quiet as stupid and scary Tim Scott has been in his first two years, or will she go off the rails like her mentor Michele Bachmann? Speaking of which, just heard Michele has not discounted a run for president.
Ted Cruz is from Houston. Out and about all the time in the news here with his endless foots tamping standing ovations. I feel I know him personally. As one would know Jesus. I just do not see how Mitch McConnell can put a lid on him.
