As the Republicans read this document I wonder what they will do about that part in the Preamble that gives Congress (the Federal government) the authority to "make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper" to provide for the "general Welfare." They had best get through that one before the cameras are turned on.
And which of their Evangelical brethren is going to read the first 10 words of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights?
Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion. [Please PLEASE note it does not say "a religion".]
I wonder who will read this part – Article 6?
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
Or this one – Also in Article 6
No religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
And this one they may as well skip reading all together – 14th Amendment
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
What about this one which seems to encompass the whole ball of wax – 16th Amendment
The Congress shall have power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.
And who will get to read Article 3 which negates the whole purpose of the Republican exercise in claiming constitutional evangelical fundamentalism from a time of widespread ignorance and nonsense should not and cannot be modified to our lives 230 years later – Article 3
The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity, arising under this Constitution, the laws of the United States, and treaties made, or which shall be made, under their authority;–to all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls;–to all cases of admiralty and maritime jurisdiction;–to controversies to which the United States shall be a party;–to controversies between two or more states;–between a state and citizens of another state;–between citizens of different states;–between citizens of the same state claiming lands under grants of different states, and between a state, or the citizens thereof, and foreign states, citizens or subjects.
All this silly crap because of the ascendancy of the Tea Party who have the intellectual capacity of pea gravel.
And what is the Tea Party’s plan for their beloved Constitution come next year? This is no lie, no joke, no exaggeration. It is already written and will be submitted and I expect every Republican will have to vote for it or lose their next primary to a certified moron.
The 28th Amendment
"Any provision of law or regulation of the United States may be repealed by the several states, and such repeal shall be effective when the legislatures of two-thirds of the several states approve resolutions for this purpose that particularly describe the same provision or provisions of law or regulation to be repealed."
