Seth Meyers takes a closer look at how a darling of the far-right, Judge Roy Moore, won a GOP senate primary in Alabama. It’s surprising, but Moore and Donald Trump are so much alike, that they could be brothers from another mother. Don’t let the obvious differences fool you. While Moore is a country mouse, and Trump is a city mouse – each is merely playing a role. Moore’s cowboy togs are less convincing than the Roy Rodger’s get up I had when I was five. My cap guns were bigger than his pistol too. Brother Trump believes he is the personification of a cultured, well-tailored, New York native. Clearly Melania has given up.
Both of the boys just love Putin – for different reasons. They know nothing at all about policy, but make up for it by being exceptional bigots. Moore will expand the Donald’s conspiracy knowledge, beyond his briefings from Alex Jones. Moore may not have heard of the ‘Dreamers’ or DACA but he knows with certainty that there are towns under Sharia law ‘up there in Illinois someplace.’ Count on Trump to zero in on Puerto Rico later in the week. So far, he knows it’s an island surrounded by BIG water. It’s my theory that he’s dragging his feet on aid. After all, Puerto Rico’s president didn’t call to congratulate him for winning the election . Hints must be dropped. BIG ones.
