From the desk of Rush Limbaugh: Bible News and Revisions. Be advised brethren; the question is no longer ‘What Would Jesus Do?’ Rather,it is ‘What Would Jesus Cut?’ The answer to the latter is ‘Taxes for the wealthy – like ME! How the average dittohead identifies with him remains an inexplicable mystery.
Rush – never averse to twisting the words of others and lying shamelessly, knows that Christ is no wishy washy liberal progressive with a soft-spot for freeloaders, losers, and other drains on the government. The wealthy ‘earned’ it by gawd, and are entitled to hang onto it. Gimme an Amen!
It is satisfying in the extreme when Lawrence O’Donnell pulls him up by his choke chain after Limbaugh twists the words of Christ to meet his own ends. O’Donnell then beats him masterfully using actual scripture – it is a joy to behold, whatever your stance on Biblical matters. O’Donnell points out that far from Limbaugh’s interpretation, Jesus was the first advocate of ‘progressive’ income tax, among numerous other examples given;
"From each according to their ability to pay."
“From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.” Karl Marx.
“Neither was there any among them that lacked; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.” Acts of the Apostles’ 4-34
Limbaugh has gotten away with twisting and spinning the words of many who are flesh and blood, and quite capable of loud rebuttal. Only the Crown Prince of Hubris would utilize a deity to assure his own tax welfare. Out of his depth much – oh yes, and it’s great fun!
