Russell Brand devotes this TREWS episode to the Fox ‘news’ reports after a 29-year-old suspect was charged Sunday with shooting two police offers in Ferguson. Russell is tuned into Fox news host Greg Gutfeld and his guest, Ann Coulter for their unique perspective, and a good thing too.. Between Coulter and Gutfeld, they know exactly why things went wrong in Ferguson and how . The ever-enchanting Ann Coulter wastes no time in blaming President Obama and Eric Holder for the mess. I know…What the heck? Ann explains that it would be business as usual in Ferguson if Obama and Holder hadn’t stuck their noses into it. Coulter claims the two made Michael Brown’s death into “another 9-11.” Thanks Obama. Apparently it was no big deal, just another small town shooting. These things happen, she implies.
Coulter, who is as white as it is possible to be, and still breathe air, lays it on the line. Her statistics prove that black people are arrested and incarcerated in much larger numbers than whites. Some see this as a problem, not Annie who is unable or unwilling to spot any injustice or inequality in the numbers.
Russell does counter the hypocrisy and irrationality with some pesky reason and facts – but it’s Greg’s turn…And his theory is nailed down tight. “It’s all about the revolution!” According to Greg who spins a terrifying tale, “we are being preyed upon by infiltrators.” Around fifty years ago, they called them ‘outside agitators’ – it’s not a pretty picture Gutfeld is painting for himself. Warming to the topic, and fueled by Ann’s wrath, Greg spouted “You heard the phrase revolution, that is what this is, and it just gets more radicalized.” The sky is falling!
Greg believes “They are a group of radical ‘minstrels’ roving from town to town. Now this is scary! By definition, minstrels are a group of white musicians, in black face, who are singing and dancing. Now they are bringing revolution to the people too?
The rest is just sillier yet, and Russell ably bounces the Fox phobia back into their court, but not before they spin more yarns of protest, riot and revolution!
I can’t help but think of the ‘revolutionaries’ Greg is describing. I believe I’ve seen this group of somewhat organizes revolutionaries. They gather to decry the current government. They often wear tri-corner hats, carry signs and tote guns. They wave flags – and talk about impeaching the President – at the least, and of ‘taking back our country’ from the comfort of their folding chairs.
I’ve got your senseless revolutionaries right here Greg – care to come to a Tea Party?
