You may ask when I have time to do all this each day? As an early riser, at about 6am I sit down at the computer to surf for stories, and turn on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. By the time the show is over I am done and ready to deal with the real world for the rest of the day.
So this bit of art theater by Sam Bee hit me where I live. Well done Sam Bee!
There is a lot wrong with the 3 hours of Morning Joe, but as I am not interested in celebrity news or cooking it is the best thing I can find to watch in the mornings as I write my politics.
The show is all about a big loud obnoxious once Republican congressman from the Florida Pan Handle.
The Florida Pan Handle is said to be the most Right-wing region in America and perhaps the world. It is where most doctors are shot in the back. And of course home of the Redneck Riviera which I have visited on occasion. I joke about the place being devoid of dentists and shoe stores but found the reality a bit different. The drive from Panama City airport to Destin is about an hour and a half. I expected to see hundreds of bill boards of aborted fetuses and a church on every corner, but instead I saw hundreds of billboards of police in DI hats glaring down at me telling me that if I drive drunk I will go to jail. It was an epiphany for me, for I realized that being drunk is what drives most Right-wing swill in America. It’s like the marriage between guns and whiskey. More bullets fly through the air from a beer and whiskey haze than from anything else. This I know from experience.
Joe Scarborough is a hardcore conservative who gains quite a bit of acceptance in that he often rails against the extremities of the GOP, mostly in regards to the religious nitwits and the NRA. But boy oh boy does he dominate the show. Kinda like Vladimir Putin dominates the Caucuses. Putin wears no shirt, Joe wears no socks.
Mika Brzezinski takes the ineffectual liberal side in most issues, though she is enamored by Chris Christie and Donald Trump her larger failing is her finger shaking political correctness that drives so many people of all persuasions up the wall. Even if she is right.
The rest of the crew on camera are pretty well grounded in the political middle, with a fair representation of the left and right. So I have to say it is the best thing on in the morning if Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber don’t make your day.
