The sizzling hot Palin brand must be hot property if Sarah Palin has gone to the effort to trademark both her and Bristol’s names. I am surprised that she’s not interested in a trademark of Tripp, Trigg, or Trippy Trap Palin too! There’s no doubt the Palins are a name brand – so don’t even think about using the Palin name on your line of (for instance) "Youbetcha Palin-approved shotgun shells."
The process could prove to be slow going. Palin was required to show an example of how her name has been used commercially, such as a sign or brochure showing the name being used to sell or advertise services. For this purpose, Palin tried to submit her Facebook page and a Fox News story about her joining the network, but those were deemed insufficient. Bristol’s application covers only educational/entertainment purposes, such as motivational speaking "in the field of life choices." Noblesse oblige Bristol, share the wisdom if not the wealth.
