SNL Open: Carnival nightmare Cruise entertainment directors, Feb 16 2013

snl carnival cruiseNightmare????  This is the problem here in the United States of the Fat and Spoiled.  For 5 days 4000 people were adrift in the calm balmy Gulf of Mexico with no AC and backed up toilets. Cold sandwiches were readily available but there was an up to a two hour wait for hot cheeseburgers. They had to sleep in either bedding and pillows they took from the rooms or spent their time napping on lounge chairs around the pools they could swim in to cool off. The passengers also enjoyed FREE cold beer and wine. Nightmare? Give me a friggin break.

Floating in the water in the dark smacking sharks in the snout so they don't eat you is a “Nightmare.” The Titanic was a “nightmare.” Having to eat each other is a “nightmare.” Hell, even me adrift in the Gulf Steam in a 16 foot boat for a day and a night without food or water I considered just a bit of a bad dream.  [I was so very thirsty that when the helicopter arrived I screamed up at them at it “DO YOU HAVE A HELICOPTER!” instead of “DO YOU HAVE SOME WATER?” They dropped no helicopters or water and sent a Coast Guard boat that took another 5 hours to get there]  What happened with this cruise was an INCONVENIENCE.  Come on TOUGHEN UP America!

TECH NOTE: SNL and I suppose NBC has changed their video process this week. Not only does the embed code seem to be now HTML5 with a secondary FLASH option, good news for tablets and mobile, but they have reduced their in video ads to 30 seconds rather than a full minute. Hope this is no fluke!
