Bill Hader returns to SNL’s Weekend Update desk as Stefon the unparalleled ‘City Correspondent.’ In his first return appearance since leaving the SNL cast, Hader – or Stefon, is greeted by new Weekend Update hosts, Michael Che and Colin Jost – or “Mmmm…One of each” as Stefon quips delightedly.
No one is more qualified than Stefon to give a run-down the new ‘fun spots’ that are creeping up in Mayor De Blasio’s New York city, and no one could possibly be more hilarious while doing it. The ultra-trendy clubs have absolutely everything – and more of it than you could ever imagine…I promise. If you’re looking for a hot club that will ‘make you feel weird the next time you see your parents,’ you are in luck, Stefon is in-the-know. Alternately, if you seek a more wholesome destination, or ” are dumb folks looking to just get murdered,” – Stefan knows just the places. One comforting constant is former MTV host Dan Cortese, whose clubbing endurance is surpassed only by his ability to appear in every club in town simultaneously.
Hader isn’t free to laugh out loud like the rest of us, and is forced to spend a good deal of the ‘report’ covering his face to hide frequent crack-ups. Of course he may also be trying to control the highly emotional state he’s in, which stems from a delicate condition.
