Comedian Stephen Colbert, told CNN's Jake Tapper that he will break character, an unprecedented move, to support his sister Elizabeth, who is running for Congress in South Carolina. Elizabeth will be running against 'Appalachian Trail' (by way of Argentina) navigator Mark Sanford. The coveted Colbert Bump can't hurt, even if brother Stephen regards her as fair game for comedy if – and when she does something silly – as all politicians do, according to Colbert. As an interesting side note, Tapper and Colbert reminisce about their 'date' to the Washington Correspondent's Dinner in 2004. The evening is notable in that the germ of Stephen's show was born, much to the admitted reservations of Tapper at the time. Nine years later, he admits Stephen may just be onto something.
