It took Stephen Colbert to straighten this all out for us. Well after Newscat anyway.
KTVU-TV blames the NTSB for verifying the names of the Asiana Airlines crew. It was a Summer Intern at the NTSB who answered the phone and said, yeah, I guess. And of course no one noticed – not evenĀ a TV station in Asian San Francisco – that the silly names were Chinese and not Korean.
I was in Korea for too long. Everyone’s name was Park. My best pal was Kno Park En. And I can’t recall ever seeing a tree.
And the funniest name so far is indeed, Ha Yu Lan Dis Tang.
