Pot! Not as bad as booze! Here is an example of that old and best argument for legalizing pot. Made even more topical by the recent Comedy Central series DRUNK HISTORY. Pot does not make you stupid. It makes you more inventive, reflective, interested, hungry and best of all it slows you friggin down.
I remember the question so many of us asked so long ago. Who would you rather drive you to Peoria, the guy with the bottle of Jack between his legs or the guy with the joint?
I will be interested to watch the statistics come out of Colorado and Washington in a few years. Of course we will see a large drop in arrests, court cases and prison enrollment, but I bet we will also see the violence rates drop appreciably. And maybe even a bit less of the gun enthusiasm.
