DeLay, a bug exterminator, was my personal congressman for twenty years. An Evangelical Christian who was known first as "Hot Tub Tom" for his drinking and sexual dalliances and later as "The Hammer" for his ability to extort election money and votes in the House of Representatives.
DeLay holding a Bible and quoting scripture in and around his trial did not help as he expected. Sentencing is scheduled for December 20th with punishment for the crime at 5 to 99 year in prison, just in time for Christmas.
