At one time the NEWS was a public service, TV networks presented the evening news at a loss paid for by other programing. After Walter Cronkite and Dave and Chet disappeared, Ted Turner initiated for profit cable news and the dynamic changed. Network and cable news moved from a public service to free market and share became the be all and end all of network news divisions.
Today neither cable nor network news can offend the Right without losing share. Fox News now has more viewers that CNN, MSNBC, HLN and CNBC combined.
The results can be seen over the past few days. Even permeating into MSNBC and COMEDY CENTRAL. The Left Right rhetoric has been declared equally offensive, the guilt must be shared equally. To that I say. BULLSHIT!
Obama is a Nazi, Obama eats watermelon, gun sights, targets, 2nd Amendment remedies, lock and load, Kenya, shooting doctors in the back, carrying guns to rallies, blowing up federal buildings, Michael Savage, shooting a score of children in the head rather than give up guns, Glenn Beck, denying gays equal rights, Ted Nugent, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sharon Angle, promote violence, promote war, promote executions, promote guns, constant whine about civil rights, Sarah Palin.
And whats other side? Rachel Maddow, bigots waving bigoted signs called bigots, Paul Krugman, racists screaming racial epitaphs called racists, Chris Matthews (blue dog Democrat), calling proud homophobes homophobes, Keith Olbermann, calling Glenn Beck a nitwit, calling Rush Limbaugh a hate filled a whole, Tina Fey, promote non violence, Alec Baldwin, promote peace, decry capitol punishment, Sean Penn, promote gun regulation, Bruce Springsteen, deep regard for civil rights.
IT IS NOT THE SAME. IT IS NOT EQUAL. AND IT IS INSANE CRAP PLAYING TO SHARE TO PRETEND THAT IT IS.
