Wildwood Claire’s most recent ‘Fundie Zone’ video focuses on The landmark Supreme Court decision, which she observes; “has made it a terrible week to be a theocratic authoritarian!” Claire describes her video as ” a medley of their mellifluous moaning, with appropriate musical accompaniment.”
Upon hearing the news that five Supreme Court Justices had voted to allow all Americans the right to wed, Bryan Fischer proclaimed: “This was a day that will live in infamy!” Not to be outdone, Ted Cruz, Todd Sarnes, Piyush Jindal, Franklin Graham and Uncle Mike Huckabee began to bay and have yet to stop…But why? Perhaps I’m missing a vital part of the ruling. From the level of distress, it appears that the men I just listed are in danger of getting gay married. Why else would their little hearts be palpitatin’ and their mouths spittin’ hyperbole all of the place?
Try as I might, I can see no way in which their lives will be affected. For that matter, the decision will have no effect on the lives and business of anyone, other than those who now have the same rights as everyone else. Okay, it may have an effect on others; the ruling can only have a positive effect on caterers, bridal consultants, specialty clothing shops, party supply stores, jewelers, divorce lawyers and bakeries too.
Fun fact. Did you know that Canada did the very same thing over ten years ago? This alone should calm many of the fears expressed by the windy ones. Canada has most decidedly NOT turned into Sodom and Gomorrah. No Canadian preachers been forced to marry other men.. This one’s for Reverend Graham who predicts that legally blessed incest is sure to follow, while others know (hope) marital bestiality is not far behind. Canadians are showing their usual courtesy and good sense in this area as well. Sorry Reverend.
