The Ten Commandments with Sarah Palin, George Washington and Betty Bowers

Is American Law Based on The Ten Commandments with Sarah Palin, George Washington and Betty Bowers

Mrs Betty Bowers America’s Best Christian, with special guests (in alphabetical order) God, Sarah Palin, and George Washington tell us how the Ten Commandments are the basis for all of our American laws – or not.

Like many, Sarah Palin is convinced that American laws are all based on the Ten Commandments, a view George Washington doesn’t share – but then, he has done the research. Sarah proclaims;“fact checking is super dangerous because the Devil is in the details, that’s why I stay far away from them.”  That explains quite a lot; but Palin would do well to spend some time with the Devil’s details. George Washington takes each commandment in turn, proving that they were either stolen from a pre-existing law, or that they are not in American law. If everyone would go through the commandments with George Washington, perhaps we could put to rest the controversy over posting the Ten C’s in courtrooms, schools and as statuary in front of public buildings.

“Thou shalt keep the Sabbath.” There is a lot of wiggle room with this one.. George asks “does he mean Saturday or Sunday?” The answer: “Neither, the Devil loves an open mind, but Americans hate a closed Walmart.”  It really doesn’t matter, because it is not a law.

“Thou Shalt Not Take the Lord’s Name in Vain.”  George points out that  it is also a first amendment violation. By the way, also not a law.

“Thou shall have no gods before me.” This one is a law – a Sharia law, as it happens.

When all of the Commandments have been discussed and dispatched, and it is proven that they are not the basis of American law, Sarah has a whopper of an  explanation.  The intrigue she describes involves a Mr Beelzebub who pulled a sneaky trick to outsmart God.  See this one for yourself, and tell me if you think perhaps it came straight from the Barracuda’s mouth,  and not from the desk of Mrs Betty Bowers, America’s Best Christian.
