The biggest story of the week (the day or the hour) again is ‘President Trump.’ I grit my teeth when I am forced to place those two words together, like John Oliver who says, they are “two words that continue to sound revolting together like ‘viscous discharge’ or ‘moist stockings.'”
John analyzes Trump’s termination of FBI Director James Comey, and his later admission that he did it because of the Russian investigation. As John points out, we have a system of checks and balances that can restrain the President from having too much power, or doing things the founding fathers never imagined. However, Republicans continue to ignore the biggest horror show on earth.
John’s comparison of Trump to the five-year-old boy relieving himself in the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday is spot on. “At some point you have to stop blaming the boy, and blame the people who can do something to stop that boy!”
