Incredibly there are some who are worse than Geraldo, who famously blames the hoodie Trayvon was wearing for his fate. Geraldo would have you believe that a hate-filled, former domestic abuser carrying a gun, was incensed by his sweatshirt and not his skin color.
Others tsk that Trayvon should have been in school, and was a hoodlum, having been suspended for a day, due to a ‘dusting’ of marijuana on his person.
Martin Bashir takes a look at the life of another man whose life makes young Trayvon’s look exemplary, and no one has followed this man or brought up his much greater ‘sins.’ In fact, even Martin is kind to the man who would become president. Bashir doesn’t mention the time Dubya – by then a married family man, spent a winter living in his car strung out on alcohol and cocaine. Did he deserve to be killed for it – don’t be ridiculous. Then why was this young man’s life swept under the rug by law enforcement, and why is it subject to the absurd and irrelevant scrutiny of the right-wing media?
