The Liberal Redneck takes a dim view of Trump’s recent reversal of transgender student’s bathroom protections. Trae Crowder had given Trump credit for at minimum leaving the LGBT community alone, in his three-week whirlwind of executive actions. Crowder: “I’ll be GD if they didn’t dive headfirst into the dumbest, most fabricated controversy I can recall,”adding “they really showed those suicidal teenagers what’s what.”
Trump, with Bannon in his ear…Rescinded the Obama administration’s protections for transgender students to use bathrooms corresponding to their gender identity. In doing so, Trump overruled his own education secretary, causing many to wonder why this is a high priority culture war, worth revisiting?
In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Laverne Cox nailed the issue: “It’s not actually about bathrooms – it’s about Trans* people’s right to exist in public spaces. If Trans* people can’t use public restrooms, we can’t go to school, we can’t work, we can’t use healthcare facilities…”
Trae sums up why Trump and his supporters are picking a losing fight.
“For all his talk about WINNING all he cares about is WHINING, that’s the only thing he’s GOOD at.” “I think he knows if he gets into a losing fight, he can do the thing he does best, which is whip his rabid, mouth breathing fan base into a fervor over a perceived slight at their life style. Because at the end of the day – they’re only useful to him when they’re f*** losing.”
