Seth Meyers reports on the week in Trump, and more astonishing than the candidate’s callous inhumanity to the parents of a deceased war veteran, the Khans, and his utter ignorance of Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine – is the Republican Party’s determination to stand by their man! Another party might have distanced themselves if an ass like Trump somehow oozed through the presidential sieve; but Republicans covet Trump’s unschooled, unwashed masses, and are willing to make the sacrifice for him.
The busiest man in politics may be Mike Pence who cleans up after Trump. Seth describes Pence’s job; “Being Trump’s V.P. is like being a fireman who has an arsonist for a roommate.” Pence even kept a straight face when defending Trump, after Obama described Trump as a demagogue at the DNC. Pence declared: “Name calling has NO PLACE in public life!” This bit of wisdom will be embroidered on all cushions in the Trump White House.
There is so much good material tonight that you won’t want to miss. One of my questions was answered when the letter written by the NFL, surfaced – or so Trump said. Reportedly the NFL wrote, imploring Donald Trump to delay the Presidential Debate because of scheduling difficulties. Clearly, Trump cannot possibly debate Hillary as scheduled.
The next scheduled debate is on a night when Trump is washing his hair.
The following debate occurs when Ivanka needs a babysitter..But Mike Pence can take Trump’s place in the debate.
The NFL? Those lying dogs claim they never wrote to Trump.
