Seth Meyers has some distressing news for those who love the candidate who ‘tells it like it is,’ because Donald Trump’s stance on the issues most beloved by fans, like self-funding his own campaign, the minimum wage and taxes have all changed – completely. Trump did say he’d transform, but as it turns out, changing is the only promise Trump is keeping!
Trump 1.0 was fond of bleating “when people give you money they OWN you!” Now, people who contribute toward his $1 billion goal are just nice? By the way, his campaign finance director is a former partner in the previously maligned Goldman Sachs. The news about taxes and minimum wage is equally disturbing for those who thought Trump was the Great Orange Hope. In large part, Trump shoves the responsibility to individual states, which have proven their ability – think bathroom laws. Trump 2.0 also claims this will build competition between the states. We’re reminded that the United States has already done competition between states, and it didn’t work out well for anyone.
If you’re looking for clarification in on-air interviews, forgeddaboudit. When the first question was sticky, The Donald evaded Chris Cuomo by the use of a masterful TanTrump. Well played Trump. Seth has found a way to avoid a similar fate by apologizing before an interview…See if you think it will work!
