John Oliver has an urgent talk with Donald Trump, because it’s evident that his campaign is at a turning point with only two unacceptable ways to go – winning the presidency or losing to a girl – but a third option would save face for Donald, and makes the rest of us look stupid. Making us look stupid would appeal to the man described by Oliver as “‘a racist voodoo doll made of discarded cat hair.”
Trump had better be watching from his media-equipped tanning bed, because “The Kid Who Ran for President” – a 5th grade book, has everything he needs. The book parallels Trump’s life in that the main character ran for office as a joke – and won. John implores Trump to drop out and tell America the entire candidacy was a stunt designed to expose the flaws of the system.
The speech given by the kid in the book is a perfect address for Trump to ‘borrow.’
Oliver points out: ” It negates your responsibility, it implicates everyone else’s stupidity and it’s a threat. And if you steal it, you’re using a part of someone else’s speech as a part of your own, which I know is kind of a thing with your campaign.”
