Seth Meyers checks in on Trump’s preparations to address Congress, and discuss his ‘agenda,’ which has largely consisted of bitter complaints against the media. Healthcare – or the plan to dismantle Obamacare, is overdue by Trump’s original plan. The mechanics of replacing the ACA are surprisingly complex, as Trump seems to be learning: “It’s an unbelievably complex subject! ‘Nobody’ knew healthcare could be so complicated!” Providing healthcare to the nation was mere child’s play just eight years ago when Trump roundly criticized Obama, who clearly lived in a simpler time.
On The Today Show, former ‘Dubya’ now former President George W. Bush addressed attacks – by you-know-who, on the media:
“I consider media to be indispensable to democracy. We need a media to hold people like me to account. Power can be very addictive, and it can be corrosive, and it’s important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power.”
Seth observes how amazing – and frightening it is that a basic platitude about democracy and the free press is now considered to be a brave criticism of our president,by the man who first called for unity between humans and fish..
I’m astonished that we used to criticize Dubya for saying dumb things!
