White Advertising executives target black consumers

Madison Avenue – which is far from suburbia, the inner city or 'real life' in general seems to draw upon stereotypes when marketing their wares to people who are normally outside of their realm of experience.   Suburban women hold conversations with cleaning products, and giggle with pals as they consume yogurt which guarantees blissful regularity.
Men are assured that at their stage of life, they can handle anything like a boss, – from fixing a car in the desert to erectile dysfunction…As if there is a mechanical connection that is well understood. (Maybe I read too much into that one. )
How much worse then, when advertisers draw upon their stereotype bank in an effort to appeal to The Black Market? Almost everything goes down better with a side order of Morgan Freeman…Almost!
