If anyone is offended by this cartoon, it would be well to recall the many instances in the Old Testament in which God is so very upset that there was much smiting, flooding, stoning, and all manner of testing and retribution.
As for the seemingly sacrilegious explanation of the hows and whys of bringing a sacrificial lamb in the form of His son to atone for man’s sins, I’m hard pressed to find a place where the cartoon characters veer from the biblical explanation. Perhaps it is the absence of "Thy, Thee, Thou, and the Shalt Nots" which lend more
credibility to the older and longer version?
