Video Dateline: Meet a family of legal migrant laborers pursuing American dream

Ricardo and Maria Cruz, a migrant worker family, who are now legal Americans, still working their behinds off with their children at their side. Family ties tend to be strong in these communities, and everyone pulls together. I know from experience that when children can attend school, they’ve often been tutored in English by an older sibling, and are eager to learn and fit in. People just like this family are targets of the maniacal ’round ’em up and send ’em back to Mexico’ crowd. I too disagree with the many excellent American jobs that are sent overseas.  This is another matter entirely. I heartily doubt that the grueling work that these families perform is likely to be filled by the fence building supremacist crowd, nor does it take money from their pockets..quite the opposite, the hypocrites pockets are filled with the fruits of the cheap labor of these poor people from across the border.
